Kindergarten started a sight word list at the end of November 2016. There are 22 lists, with a total of 10 words on each list, plus six sentences that need to be done before the student can get the next list. They are to bring them back and read the words and sentences fluently before they are allowed to get the next list. Carlee Courts is the first kindergarten student this year to complete all 22 sight word lists. She started with her first list on December 1, 2016 and finished the last list on February 17, 2017. She got to announce over the intercom to the whole school what she had accomplished and as she was headed back to her classroom, she was greeted with cheers from middle school, high school and elementary students lined up in the hallways clapping and cheering for her. We here at RCS are very proud of her accomplishment. She will now start reading books and doing a worksheet that goes with each book. Congratulations, Carlee!
